How to Sign Up for DeepSeek and Fix Login Problems

Sign up at chat.deepseek.com or in the DeepSeek app with your email, phone number or a supported third-party login. If the verification code doesn’t arrive, wait, check spam and filtering, and don’t request codes too often. If your email domain is rejected, DeepSeek suggests Gmail, Outlook, Hotmail or Yahoo. Google login doesn’t work from mainland China, and WeChat login works only from there.

The short version

Most DeepSeek login problems come down to three things: a code that hasn’t arrived, an email domain DeepSeek doesn’t accept, or a login method that doesn’t work in your region. DeepSeek’s own FAQ covers each one.

Step by step: signing up

  1. Go to chat.deepseek.com or open the DeepSeek app.
  2. Choose how to sign up. DeepSeek’s terms say you register with your email or a third-party account; its privacy policy mentions signing in with Apple or Google where available, and its FAQ covers phone numbers and WeChat.
  3. Enter the verification code sent by email or text message.

Fixes for common problems

The verification code doesn’t arrive

From DeepSeek’s FAQ:

  • Wait a little; codes can be delayed.
  • Check the number or address you typed.
  • Look in spam, and check any blocking or filtering settings.
  • If you requested many codes quickly, wait before trying again.
  • If you recently moved your number to a new carrier, it can take 24 hours.
  • Restart your phone and request a new code.

Your email is rejected

The FAQ says your email domain may not be on DeepSeek’s supported list, and recommends a major provider such as Gmail, Outlook, Hotmail or Yahoo. If that doesn’t work, contact service@deepseek.com.

Google or WeChat login fails

Google login isn’t supported from IP addresses in mainland China. WeChat login works only from IP addresses in mainland China.

“Current device environment error”

Your IP address or phone number has been flagged as high-risk. Try a different network.

You forgot your password

Log out, choose password login, then Forgot Password and follow the steps.

“Your account has been temporarily suspended”

DeepSeek says this follows possible violations of its usage guidelines. If you think it’s a mistake, submit the Account Suspension Appeal form linked in the FAQ. DeepSeek says most reviews are completed within 3 business days.

You see chats you didn’t start

Someone may be using a session you left logged in. Go to Settings > Account settings > Log out of all devices, then reset your password.

Prompts to copy

Once you’re in, a first message that sets you up well:

text
I'm new to DeepSeek. I mainly want help with [your work or hobby].
Suggest five tasks you could help me with this week, each with a sample prompt I can copy.

Example

The problem: you sign up with an address at a small company domain and never get past the email step.

The fix: sign up with a Gmail or Outlook address instead, as DeepSeek’s FAQ suggests. Keep in mind that the email can’t be changed later, so pick one you’ll keep.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Requesting code after code. It can delay you further.
  • Using a work email for personal chats, or the reverse. The address is permanent.
  • Downloading look-alike apps. Use the links on deepseek.com’s download page.
  • Sharing your login. Its terms say you’re responsible for losses caused by leaking your account or password.

Good to know

Signing up means agreeing to DeepSeek’s terms and privacy policy, which say your data is stored in China. Read keep your data private in DeepSeek before your first real chat.
