The AI Coding Starter Kit

The AI Coding Starter Kit is a free PDF, with editable Markdown sources, that gives you the four things most teams build from scratch when they adopt AI coding assistants: a project rules template, 25 reusable coding prompts, a team adoption checklist and an assistant comparison sheet.

What’s inside

  1. Project rules template. An annotated AGENTS.md you can fill in for your repository in about 15 minutes, with notes on the file names other tools expect.
  2. 25 coding prompts. Reusable prompts for understanding code, writing tests, debugging, refactoring, reviewing and documenting, each with the context to fill in.
  3. Team adoption checklist. What to decide before rolling out an AI coding assistant: tool choice, data and security policy, review rules, training and how to measure whether it’s working.
  4. Assistant comparison sheet. A one-page summary of twelve AI coding assistants: where they run, their rules file, free option and entry price, with the date it was checked.

You get the PDF plus a zip file of the Markdown sources, so you can copy the templates straight into your repositories.

Who it’s for

Developers who want better results from the assistant they already use, and team leads and business owners deciding how to roll one out. It assumes you can read code, but not that you’ve used AI tools before.
