X post formatter

Paste your text and the formatter makes the headlines bold and the lists neat bullets, ready for any X post. Then highlight any words to make them bold, italic or plain, and copy the result into X. It takes up to 25,000 characters, counts them the way X does, and runs in your browser: nothing you paste is sent anywhere.

How it works

Paste, then highlight

  • Paste any text, up to 25,000 characters. Headlines come out bold, like 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗪𝗘𝗕𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗖𝗞𝗨𝗣, lists come out as neat • bullets, and each sentence starts on a new line.
  • Then highlight any word or words and make them 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗱, 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐟 𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐝, 𝘐𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘤, 𝘽𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙘, or plain again.
  • Links, @mentions and #hashtags stay exactly as they are, so they keep working.
  • Copied an answer from an AI chat? The leftover clutter is cleaned up for you.
  • The counter counts the way X does, so what you see is what X will show.

Use bold where it helps

Some screen readers read bold and italic letters one by one or skip them, and X search won't match a bold word to its plain spelling. Keep bold to a headline and a few key words, and keep hashtags and the words people search for plain.

Your posts get the click. Does your website get the customer?

This formatter is a small example of how I build: fast on any phone, private by default, no sign-up. If people find you on X, your website should turn that visit into a booking, an order or a call. Try the working examples, or tell me what you need.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make text bold on X?

Paste your text here and the headlines turn bold on their own. To make other words bold, highlight them and pick a style, then copy the result into X. It works in posts, replies and long posts, without X Premium.

Why does a bold post use more characters?

X counts each bold or italic letter, and each emoji, as 2 characters, while plain letters count 1. A bold headline therefore uses about twice its length. Links always count as 23, however long they are. The counter here follows those rules.

How long can an X post be?

A standard post can have up to 280 characters. X Premium subscribers can write longer posts of up to 25,000 characters, and everyone can read them. The formatter takes up to 25,000 characters and counts them the way X does, so you can see where you stand.

Will bold break my links, mentions or hashtags?

No. Links, @mentions and #hashtags are left exactly as they are, so they keep working.

Is bold text accessible?

Not fully. Some screen readers read bold and italic letters one by one or skip them, and X search won't match a bold word to its plain spelling. Use bold for a headline and a few key words, not whole posts.

Is what I type saved or sent anywhere?

No. The formatter runs entirely in your browser. There's no account, and your text isn't sent to a server or stored.

Can I turn bold or italic text back into normal text?

Yes. Highlight it and choose Plain, and the letters and digits turn back into ordinary ones. To make everything plain, select all first.
